Do you have a physical storefront?

No, we are mobile only. All rentals are at Mountain Island Lake in Huntersville, NC. Our Raleigh address is for mailing only — please do not visit it.

How does the rental process work?

Book online and complete your digital waiver. We’ll meet you at the Neck Road Access Area in Huntersville, NC — look for our black kayak trailer with kayaks on it. We do not have a storefront. Delivery is free at our primary location (Neck Road Access Area).

Where can I go with the kayak or paddleboard?

Unlike other rental spots, you’re free to explore the entire lake! Popular areas include:

Rural Hill Nature Preserve

Do you offer vacation home kayak delivery?

Vacation Home Delivery (Local Lake Areas Only)

Available for homes on Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake, including Huntersville, Davidson, Mooresville, and nearby lakefront areas.

What is your weather policy?

If weather conditions are unsafe (storms, lightning, heavy rain, high winds), we will reschedule your rental. Light rain is generally okay, but we prioritize your safety. If the weather turns bad at the launch time, we will not allow you to go out. Please monitor conditions in advance.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major forms of payment. Payment is required prior to delivery.

What is the age requirement for renting?

Renters must be 18+ with a valid ID.
Children must ride with an adult in a tandem kayak.
Tandem kayaks can accommodate 2 adults and a small child (500 lb limit).
A parent or guardian must sign a liability waiver for all minors.

What are your hours?

Monday–Friday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Saturday–Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Before/after hours are by appointment only; after-hours rates apply. Same-day bookings are welcome, but 24-hour notice is preferred.

Do I need GPS for kayak rentals?

Yes — please bring a charged phone with GPS. We provide dry bags to keep your phone protected.

Is there a rental agreement/waiver?

Yes, every participant over 18 must sign a digital rental agreement/waiver. For minors, a parent/guardian must sign on their behalf.

Can I bring my pet?

Absolutely! Pets are welcome. Pets must wear a life jacket (not provided).

What are the weight limits?

Double kayak: 500 lbs
Single kayak: 275 lbs
Paddleboard: 350 lbs

The double kayak can accommodate 2 people and a small child.

Are there bathrooms available?

Neck Road Boat Ramp does not have restrooms. Public restrooms are available nearby at Latta Nature Preserve (6345 Sample Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078), about 12 minutes from the launch.
